Gato, aka El Senor Gato, El Gato Guapo (de la casa)
Gato joined our team in September 2007 after roaming the streets of San Antonio as a wondering youth. He received his BA in Lounging and Masters in Napping at the young age of 2 years old. Gato would love to one day be able to say that he layed in every carrier that has come into the clinic.
When not busy greeting everyone that comes through our doors, Gato loves to spend time annoying Terri, studying and investigating other patients (and their carriers), and delighting in his favorite snack, catnip. Gato also loves to be shaved in his now infamous Lion cut and posing for pictures.
Terri has been with the practice since 1997. She started as an assistant and has become our head receptionist.
Terri grew up in Nacogdoches, TX and moved to this area in 1996. Terri shares her home with her husband, Brad, and two dogs Louis and Bailey.
On her days off, Terri enjoys spending time at the beach or tending to her vegetable garden.
Erika joined our team as a receptionist in February 2015. She is originally from Tulsa, OK, but grew up in Wimberley. She graduated from Wimberley High School in 2010.
Erika shares her home with her boyfriend Mario, their son Anthony, and their two dogs Arya and Bo.
While not working, Erika enjoys baking and trying new recipes.
Sarah has been with our practice since 2011, but worked in the veterinary industry for 3 years before that. She started with us as a veterinary assistant and worked her way up to also working as a receptionist, then veterinary technician, and finally practice manager.
She grew up in Sherman, TX where she was involved in horse and dog clubs in 4-H. She has received her A.S. in Psychology and an A.S. in Sociology from Grayson County College. Sarah moved to the area to attend Texas State University where she studied Psychology.
Sarah currently shares her Schertz home with her fiance, his daughter, her two dogs a lab mix named Jazz , shepherd mix puppy Colby, cat Paisley, and two dumbo rats Chester and Jupiter; but has had a menagerie of different pets in her life, including reptiles, rats, birds, and rabbits.
While not providing excellent patient care at work, Sarah enjoys spending time with her fiance and daughter, reading, cooking, spending time outdoors, and enjoying the company of her animals.
Morgan joined our staff in November 2015. She’s from College Station, TX and attended A&M Consolidated High School and the Lonestar College System.
She has been learning very quickly and takes pride in her job. Morgan came to us with a background in the salon and hair industry.
She and her husband Dillon share their San Marcos home with Olive, a dachshund mix, Molly the min-pin mix, Cosmo the cat, Jack the Great Dane, and Rupert a dwarf hotot rabbit.
Weslea started working with us in January 2014 and has been committed to providing excellent patient care from the very beginning. She is originally from Plano, TX and moved to the area to attend Texas State University, where she received her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Photography in 2013.
Her future aspirations include attending graduate school and specializing in painting. She also hopes to be able to travel overseas more after completing her Master's degree.
Weslea currently shares her San Marcos home with boyfriend Ben, their two dogs, Argus and Nyx and Burt Macklin the FBI cat. When not working she spends her time enjoying art, reading a good book, animals, movies, and finding and trying a good beer. Weslea is a first generation American from Irish born parents and is the first to go on to higher education in her family.
Rhodale joined our team as a veterinary technician in June 2016; she has previous experience in a veterinary hospital working with domestic and exotic pets.
She graduated from Texas State University in December 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
Rhodale is from Laredo, Texas and also speaks Spanish. Rhodale’s future goal is to further her career in veterinary medicine. She enjoys seeing our patients get better from our help, seeing familiar faces coming in for wellness visits and knowing that she can make a difference in their lives is worthwhile.
Rhodale lives in San Marcos with her shepherd mix dog named Rae. When Rhodale is not working, she enjoys being outdoors; whether it’s running, hiking, or biking. She also likes exploring with her dog and beer tasting.
Jenn began working as a veterinary assistant in July 2015 and also as receptionist as of May 2018. She’s from Houston, TX and now lives in San Marcos. Jenn graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and then earned a Master’s Certification in Forensic Psychology in spring 2015.
She has three dogs, Farrah the German shepherd, Doc a jack Russell terrier mix, and Tink the Chihuahua.
While not providing excellent care at work, Jenn enjoys reading and floating the river on her days off.
Erin joined our team in August 2017. She is from Dripping Springs, Texas where she attended Katherine Anne Porter School.
Erin lives in San Marcos and has many pets including a dog Goku, two cats Salem and Cayde, a chinchilla named Steven, a blue-tongued skink named Merlin, and two axoltols Tyrion and Jamie. Did you know blue-tongued skinks have live births?
If you haven’t realized already, Erin has quite the interest in reptiles and herpetology. She also has interest in pet nutrition and knowledge in dog training. Erin’s favorite thing about working as a veterinary assistant is the happy tail wags! Her future goal is to own her own pet store.
Alessa joined our practice as a veterinary assistant in May 2018. She is originally from Cleveland, Ohio and has a English mastiff named Bones.
Alessa lives in San Marcos and graduated from Texas State University in spring 2018 with a B.S. Animal Science. Her interests include running and floating our beautiful river.
Alessa plans on going to veterinary school, but for now is enjoying the puppy kisses that come with the job!
